Dale Earnhardt is one to the best known drivers of all time and a fixture in the sport of NASCAR. PaintMyStory was commissioned to produce a montage on Dale’s life. The proof you see here was signed by Dale giving us the go ahead to make several design changes and move on to the finished artwork.
While we’d sent the proof with instructions to “sign off” on the design which normally is done on a small sticker on the back, Ironically, Dale signed the front boldly with a sharpe, making it the souvenir that this piece would soon become.
On February 18, 2001 Dale lost his life in a final-lap accident at the Dayton 500. The montage was never completed, but we have this perpetual remembrance of his racing story and the honor we had in meeting the legend, learning about his family and getting to share in his success.
